Life is full of colors and choosing color schemes is fun, but a good color scheme is more than just a set of colors that appeal to you. Colorpedia is a tool that will help you make good color decisions. It uses color names from the Color Naming Experiment ( http://tinyurl.com/4p5kmx ), making Colorpedia a rich and accurate source of the most commonly used color names. Other features of Colorpedia are:

* Support the Monochromatic, Complement, Analogous, Triadic, Split-complementary, Rectangle and Square schemes.

* Uses an innovative hextille color control palette, which allows to easily select color by lightness, vividness or temperature.

* A dictionary with more than 700 entries that allows to filter colors according to similarities in hue or name.

* Favorites schemes can be saved for future reference.

* Variations on a scheme are automatically created. You will get more than 200.000 color schemes to choose from!

Okay for casual users

I downloaded this to try it next to my other color apps. It's okay for casual color selection or to see simple schemes. It has some good features and worth the .99, but it doesn't show any RGB or CMYK breakdowns. Other color apps do, but are much more expensive. Seems like it should show at RGB though.

Great for those with no "coordinating" skills!

I love this app. Not only does it show you which colors go well with each other, it shows how the colors are related. To customize the colors, you can fine tune the intensity and warmness of the colors to match exactly what your looking for. It has been great for my home makeover brainstorming. The info provided in this app is perfect for coordinating fabrics, glassware, rugs, and other colored accessories. I haven't tried to match paint colors yet, so I can't speak to the ease of finding matching colors. Regardless, bravo to the developers for such an useful app!

I like it.

I use it to come up with color schemes for character designs, it's quite useful for me. My only complaint is that you can't search colors by their numerical name. Overall a cool, attractive app.
